Negligence might be in the form of error in diagnosis, health management, treatment or aftercare. As per the health law a patient can take legal action against doctor or hospital in case of medical malpractice.
Examples of Medical Malpractice:-
- Misdiagnosis:- Improper diagnosis of symptoms or poor use of patient medical history leads to the misdiagnosis which results into the medical malpractice.
- Ignoring laboratory results:- When doctor or other healthcare professional ignores laboratory results then it leads to the improper use of medical results and reults into medical malpractice.
- Unnecessary surgery or treatment:- When wrong site surgery or unnecessary surgery done by doctors or other healthcare professionals.
- Surgical errors:- Improper use of surgical instruments or side effects of surgery also comes under medical malpractice.
