Project managers can use any of the methods below to handle conflict : –
Cooperative problem solving : – Cooperative problem solving is working together to solve issues and problems in a workable environment. It is two or more people sitting down, discussing the issue/problem, and coming up with a workable solution for both parties.
Competing : – The competing style is about gaining power and control over the person you are in conflict with.
Compromising : – When atleast one person wants to compromise with the other person they are in conflict with, the compromising resolution style is used by the project manager.
Accomodating : – When one person in the conflict surrenders and puts his interests behind the other persons the accomodating style is used.
Avoiding : – A person who does not want to be involved in any conflict and feels it is easier to avoid them uses the avoiding style of handling conflict .
