As I walk down the hall leading to my room I realize how pleasant it is to be finally home. I stop at the door to my room and think about how peaceful it’s been living there since I got my own room. It’s been stress free having a room to myself without anyone to be bothered by. It’s almost as if my room has been a part of me and the only place I can definitely call my home.
I finally walk in and it’s like stepping into a comfort zone. Standing at the doorway looking inwards, I see my queen size futon bed directly across from me against the far wall waiting for me to be lay on.
Its sheets and blankets are perfectly straightened and well organized. A plethora of pillows, different shapes and each one with its own, unique pattern rests atop the plain blue sheets. This color forms a bright matching contrast with the lighter blue that compromises the coloring of the bedspread.
As I hop into my bed I feel the relaxations that ease away all the strain inside me from an exhausting day. I close my eyes and enjoy the sound of silence. Shortly, I stood up from my quick nap and distinguish all my surroundings.
My bedroom floor is pale and yet full of texture. In front of me I see a flat screen HD television that I got for Christmas a year ago on the plain white wall. On the other side of the wall I see several of memorable photographs that I had kept throughout the years. When I took a glimpse at the photos, I can’t stop to notice one picture, which is a picture of me smiling like the morning sun taken on the very first time I step into my new room. It was a bright smile that opens a new chapter of my life, and made me realize how delightful I am to call the room my own.
