What individual and organizational structures support a creative orientation? How does your organization’s structure support a creative orientation? If it does not, what changes would you recommend?

Organizational structure affects company performance, employee performances and interactions and also innovation. Since the fabric affects the flow of authority, in a bureaucratic environment, for instance, it is harder to share ideas and information. A circular organization structure, for example, has the leaders and executives at the center of it all (Zhang &Kwan, 2018). Power is divided into rings. However, the leaders spread vision outwards, and it is much easier for creative employees to share their opinions with the leaders. A functional organization structure groups all the departments separately where they are then headed by a visionary leader who can hear ideas and implement them more easily. My organization is rigidly departmentalized. The top-down approach is not collaborative, and sharing of creative ideas is limited. I would recommend that the company performs benchmarking exercises on similar organizations with different structures.
