Rewards and Recognition
Recognition and appreciation are fundamental needs of humans since people feel valued for work they do (Shields, Brown, Kaine, et al., 2015). Employees react to appreciations and recognitions since it a recognition of their hard work which is valued by other people. By recognizing the employees, the managers are able to inspire the workforce and increase employee satisfaction, productivity and efficiency hence motivated to improve or maintain the good work. Motivation to employees increase productivity to organization since the same employees get satisfaction at work that whatever their input is to the organization, it is appreciated and valued. Rewards should be extensive with both monetary and nonmonetary rewards. Salaries and benefits, tuition fees, training, benefits and paid vacations are some aspects of reward systems that managers can use motivate and inspire their workforce for increased productivity.
