Hence, each study is then categorized to fit the typologies seen as the most appropriate.The paper explores the use of deceit by means of businesses using Hopper and Bell’s typologies of deception with countless case studies. The studies provide examples of the following typologies: crime, masks, lies and unlies.

This paper was useful as it provided different categories of deception with cases seen throughout the last couple of decades. The fact that this author could classify the cases into categories helped my further understand the point the author was trying to make, that not all deception is created equal. The author gave facts about the cases and then explained why it fit into that category or categories, helping the reader understand how the categories play a role in determining unlawful deception.

Overall i felt the author accomplished his goal with the information he provided in this paper, although it is unto the reader to determine if his strategies are useful without affecting the issue of ethics. This was a great paper to read as it helped me understand that various forms of deception can be utilized without breaking the law. I was unaware that certain forms of deception could be used legally. I felt like this paper was veery helpful as it gave me a better understanding of the topic of deception from a professor stand point.
