As part of the research courses you will be writing a research proposal for an evaluation study. If you are in a field education placement, the evaluation study will be based on some component of your placement. If you are not in a field education placement, you will discuss with your research instructor a social work field of practice that is of interest to you. The assignment for Research I required that you formulate an evaluation research question and conduct a literature review. These elements can serve as the basis of the evaluation study proposal you will be writing for this research 2 course. The assignment for Research II requires you to write a proposal in which you present and justify a design and plan for the evaluation based in your field education internship setting or (if you are not currently in an internship) a practice setting in which you are interested. You should use the same practice setting on which you based the literature review assignment in research . In addition to writing the proposal, you will need to create and upload a 5-8 minute VoiceThread presentation about the proposed evaluation.

• Part 2: The study design and sampling methods are due on Session 9 (uploaded to Blackboard before the beginning of class). • The full version of the assignment (all sections) should be uploaded to Blackboard under the created place in Assignment tab. The assignment is due on Session 13, prior to the time your regularly scheduled class begins that week. • The written report should be typed with 12-point Times New Roman font, 1-inch margins, and double-spaced. Be certain to pay attention to writing quality, organization, grammar, spelling, 2 sentence structure and APA citation formatting. The project should show your application of social work knowledge and values, critical analysis, and thoughtful reflection. Guidance for the VoiceThread presentation (5-8 minutes) You should prepare a 5-8 minute video presentation of your evaluation proposal using VoiceThread. The presentation should be uploaded on Blackboard before the start of class on Session 13. You are expected to view several, or all, of your classmates’ VoiceThread presentations. Type a thoughtful comment or question on at least one VoiceThread presentation of a classmate. The assignment will be graded on a 100-point scale and is worth 25% of the final course grade.
