Management of tuberculosis (TB) in health facilities focuses on implementation of core interventions in TB control. Health facilities now have infection prevention and control policy and this is being augmented with the introduction of multi-drug resistant and extensively drug resistant.

Health facilities have to stock sufficient drugs for treatment of TB and the essentials that a health facility has to have are – drugs for TB treatment, treatment related supplies (syringes for example), TB forms and registers and sputum containers.

Resistance to change may occur due to introduction of certain facility level measures and administrative controls. For example the introduction of facility level measure like identifying and strengthening local coordinating bodies for infection control will meet resistance as it is beyond the initial scope of the facility. This resistance can be undermined by training all the employees with regards to WHO (world health organization) policy on TB infection control in health care facilities.
