To improve the motivation of my project team, I can implement the following measures:
- Announce a scheme of awards for small wins – instead of waiting for the whole project and giving a big award, give away rewards and awards for small and intermediate achievements along the life cycle of the project – recognition is critical in motivation
- The goal setting must be tangible and measurable, must be achievable in the short and long duration
- Follow the Maslow hierarchy of motivations like physiological needs, physical needs, self esteem needs, actualization needs etc
- Spread a positive energy around, give genuine applause for achievements and performance, and promote a healthy work place like lunch time jogging, regular breaks, holidays, Christmas lunches etc
