Scenario: An office manager of a hospital is deciding whether to relocate its MRI machine as it can only accommodate 2 patients in the waiting room while a patient is in the MRI machine. If there are already 2 patients waiting, new patients are turned away. The new location would double the amount of waiting space available. Arrivals to the MRI machine occur in a Poisson manner at a rate of 6 per hour. On average, it takes about 10 minutes to service an MRI. These service times have been shown to be exponential.

Question: assume that the average economic cost to the hospital due to the MRI facility being idle is $50/hour. If the relocation of the MRI facility costs $5000, estimate how long it will take for the hospital to break even with the expanded facility. You should assume that the MRI facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
