Expert Answer
In such type of projects requiring fixed time and price for completion, it is the responsibility of construction project manager to employ as much discipline as possible ,this may include following steps :
- Define the scope, objectives and deliverables of your project clearly and jointly with the client
- Decompose your work into smaller, more manageable, and discrete pieces to make sure that your team efforts are properly focused on work required to perform the project scope and not on other activities.
- Then determine the duration of each of the activities categorised above and sequence the activities in a logical order.
- Tightly manage your project so that you do not incur unnecessary cost and the work done is within the scope as per contract requirements.
- Educate and motivate your team members again and again as the time passes,
- To measure the progress towards completion, hold regular project reviews internally.
- Obtain acceptance of your work on ongoing bases from the client. Both the parties should be clear of what is expected to be delivered.
