Expert Answer
Process evaluation differs from impact and outcome evaluation :-
- Process evaluation focus on the program implementation not on the changes and results involved
- Used during the operation of existing program
- Help stakeholders to understand how a program outcome or impact was achieved
- Analyse how well the program is working where as impact and outcome will focus on the degree at which program affects the target population
- Provide early working against the risks or problems that may occur where as impact and outcomes will focus on the policies and objectives.
Examples:- Process evaluation is totally focused on the program implementation like in any organizations is starting any new program then the implementation of that program comes under process evaluation in which we will analyse about the goals of recruitement of the participants for the program , and how many service hours each participant received for their task. We will plan early for the problems which may arise in future related to the program. So in any new program process evaluation is used to:-
- measure the activities of the program
- measure the program quality
- how many employees involved in program
