Solved: Define team norms, and the position they play in behavior and cohesiveness of the group?

unwriten rules in a team are called team norms. the members in a team will interact in a specific manner, which shows some kind of attachment and relationship among them. it helps them personally bounded and emotionally attached with one another. by understanding each other, they can perform well. many of the times this will show positive impact on work and produce more effective output. some times it may give negative output also.

when a team consists of more people who belongs to different interests, priorities, community, gender, religion and so on, all these helps them to become a group. as i told you, it helps to understand each and support each in a good manner. some times it may leads to some kind of problems like race or color or nationality problems. particularly when there is high diversified people in a team it happens. it leads to problems to the team and organization too.

the five stages are: forming, storming, norming, performing and adjourning. it does not mean that every team form in the same manner. a small incident or interest makes them to start a group. similarly a small incident is enough to stop them continue in a group. the major required characteristic to a team is work together and achieve together. the one who knows this and works for team and organizational goals, they are going to be continue in the same team and organization for a longer periods.
