New mapping tools found in excel 2016
There are two mapping capabilities found in MS Excel 2016. The mapping tools can be used to map a company’s sales or revenue figures to various countries on a world map. One of the mapping tools is referred to as a regular two-dimensional world map. It involves highlighting (cell A2: A5 and C2: C5) like in the example below and using the insert tab you select maps then Filled map. There will be a chart that will be displayed as a heat map (Collins, 2017). Editing or enhancing this map is limited to only changing colors as well as repositioning the legend.
On the other hand, Excel offers more powerful mapping capabilities referred to as 3-D mapping. When using this mapping option, you start by selecting your data (A1: C5) using the data in the first example and using the Insert tab, select 3D map, a 3D maps is then opened and launches the 3D mapping tools. When you plot your data in these maps, you then use the layer pane function to format your map (Collins, 2017). The mapping tool then displays a column a column over each country by default. One can also change this format to display a region chart, a bubble chart or a heat map. There are also other functions provided for enhancing the chart like, changing colors, applying filters, and using additional map layers as overlays.
Question 2
Ethics protects a company’s image. Sometimes we sense something unethical is happening in our companies or something isn’t right at work (Gallo, 2015 ). Managers protect the company’s images and take responsibility for what happens in the company. It is therefore right for a manager or any other worker of the company to express their concern or discomfort when they witness something could destroy the company reputation or hurts its financial status (Gallo, 2015 ). As the new manager of, upon the realization that the controller is covering something up, I’ll first gather enough facts before reporting to the owner to make sure that all the allegations are valid as well as documented. By doing this I’ll have enough evidence to support the claim. I wouldn’t report directly or speak to the controller himself until I have enough evidence that something detrimental to the company’s reports actually happened. After I get the facts, I’ll share my concerns with others and seek advice on how to handle the situation rather than going directly to lay the accusation. After weighing the advice from different people I’ll then table the facts using the right channels. I can use the meeting to lay the accusation or share the matter with the boss directly
