WHY CHANGE IS GOOD IN ANY SITUATION
Expert Answer
On the basis of the condition and constraints of the a) external environment, b) competitor environment and c) the competitive environment, an organization frames out its strategy. But we know that these factors are not consistent and are subject to changes. Therefore, what is called as the ‘theory of business’ of a firm is also cannot be consistent and should change based on the changes of these factors.
Successful organizations always try to find whether their theory of business is suitable in the context of these external dynamic factors. They identify the gaps (for instance in terms of their Mission, Vision, Strategy, Technology, Employee-Relations, Task-Job Design, Organizational Structure, Corporate Culture etc.) and take appropriate corrective actions. Depending upon the requirement to change and the present position of the organization, the action may take a long time to implement. So, organizations that do not review continuously their position in terms of the above factors, find difficulty adjusting to the environment as the gap between their theory of business and the actual context have grown over a period of time.
