Managers need to be extra careful in dealing with employees who are super efficient but at the same time show disruptive behaviors at workplace. In order to manage such employees, a manager can take some firm steps. First, the manager needs to make the employee aware that due to his/ her disruptive behaviors, other are getting trouble in the workplace. The communication should continue till the person is able to understand the issue and commits to rectify the behavior. Second, the assignments given to these employees should be challenging enough – note that regular assignments are easy for them and increase their scope to behave disrupted. It is sometimes correctly said that the worst assignments are made for the best people. Third, instead of having two communications and feedback session per year (half-yearly and annually), managers should often sit with these employees to let them know the feedback. The communications should be directive and should not call for any emotional drama. Finally, it is important to document every aspect – every time a person makes a complaint regarding the particular employees, a communication should follow and a record must be kept for all the commitments made by the employees for improving the behavior.
