If you owned a company, would you hire a job applicant who is an ex-offender, assuming the applicant met all job qualifications? Why or why not? What would make you more likely or less likely to hire an ex-offender?

Assume that it would be legal for you to hire the applicant. For example, obviously, you would not hire a registered sex offender to work in a child care center.

If there would be no boundation on me, I would definitely not hire a job applicant who is an ex-offender, even though he met all the job qualifications. And, the reason is that I would be unsure what he will do in future while being at work and I would always have doubt that if he has been an ex-offender he can repeat any such incidents even in my company. However, if it would be legal for me to hire the applicant, then obviously I would have no choice left apart from hiring him even against my wish.
