We all know that Electrical substations having several security challenges. These substations should maintain perticular statagy to identify the vulnerability of owners and managing their movement to other areas which they have access. With this statagy some security issues managed, but the main issue is about typical access control at the opening of a door.There are mainly “tailgating” or “piggybacking” iisues that National Electrical Reliability Commission’s violation(NERC) violated.

It is nothing butv a problem that can occur at any entrance gate, like access to a room and road entrance.Generally Piggybacking occures when there is a situation that authorized person or vehical accesses an area, and by mistake allows some other vehicle or person. Tailgating occurs when an unauthorized vehicle follows an authorized vehicle without the knowledge of that authorized vehicle.These two problems causes for loss due to property theft, cost of vandalism and physical loss.

Tailgate Detection Using Video Analytics:

video analytics is the perfect solution for detecting tailgating.The main idea behind this idea is that there is camera mounted in entrance location. tere is an intelligent video algorithm, which may reside in the camera and having capability of analyzing occurrence of people and vehicles which are ingthrough the entrance.
