How does the federal government address incidents of cyber terrorism?
Expert Answer
As the threat of cyber security is increasing day by day, the federal government is making cyber security their top priority. The federal government with their partners such as Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the National Security Agency, and other U.S. Intelligence Community are taking serious steps to combat the cyber terrorism. They are trying to be proactive about a situation rather than reactive. They are using various technical support – such as wiretaps, surveillance, and forensics to fight cyber crime. They are also exchanging information about the cyber threat with the private sector through partnership such as Domestic Security Alliance Council, InfraGard, and the National Cyber Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA).They have also launched Cyber Shield Alliance on www.leo.gov, which provides access to cyber training opportunities and information, as well as the ability to report cyber incidents to the FBI. They are also collaborating with newly established cyber crime centres at Interpol and Europol.
