Hello, I need help with the following question. I need to calculate a Printing expense over 3 months. Quarterly total expense is $158,400.Number of grocery carts for the 1st month is 240,000, for the 2d month is 480,000, and for the 3d month is 720,000. Total amount of carts per quarter is 1,400,000. I calculated that each month will have $52,800 in Printing expense which is incorrect. Only 2d month has $52,800. the 1st and 2d months should have different amounts of Printing expense. It should be no even distribution applied in calculation. Please help me to calculate Printing expense for the 1st and second months using no even distribution. Thank you!
Expert Answer
Total Expenses = $158,400
Total no of grocery carts in quarter = 240,000 + 480,000 + 720,000 = 1,440,000
Per grocery carts cost = $158,400 / 1,440,000 = $0.11
So 1st Quarter = 240,000 x $0.11 = $26,400
2nd quarter = 480,000 x $0.11 = $52,800
3rd quarter = 720,000 x $0.11 = $79,200
