Verb explains an action, when that action is performed by the subject in sentence then it is known as Active voice otherwise a passive voice.

Example: The scenario that we will be considering here where passive voice is used is when a student is explaining her mother what the teacher taught today.

Sentence: The chapter of Magnetism was taught by teacher today in class.

Active Voice: Teacher taught the lesson.

Passive Voice: That chapter was taught by Teacher.

In the passive voice sentence mentioned above the teacher is not the real person in conversation, a mother and child is talking about what was taught today in class hence the child said to his mother regarding the subject and the teacher that: THE CHAPTER OF MAGNESTISM WAS TAUGHT BY TEACHER TODAY IN CLASS.
