I work as Operations Manager for site and was interacting with co-worker Planning Manager to tell about the problems I am facing due to planning issue in my department which is impacting productivity & efficiency. The co-worker miss-understood and thought I was blaming him for the poor planning. The confusion aroused because of lot of noise in the area where we were talking. The planning manager missed out important bits of information and thus thought got upset. Moreover, the order of presentation of information was not proper. I did not brief him about the background and issue. Thus both these factors led to poor communication and affected my relationship. To avoid such things, it is always better to talk in the environment which is noise free and do give background information before discussing core thing with anyone.
