Class: The Meaning of Life (PH205)
Expert Answer
It is possible to balance the religion and science. It is done by putting religion in the personal space where there is a less interference of other people and practice of science in the spaces other than personal space where the thought process, decision making and regular interaction require science and its rational knowledge. Further, the science can also be used to justify the many beliefs found in the religion. For example, religion requires special prayers or body movements during the prayers (Salah in case of Islam). A science elaborates the benefits of the Salah upon our own body system. It makes the beliefs to be stronger, but also it helps bring the science to understand the religion and its values. Hence, religion and science can coexist together with clarity and within the limits. To make it happen, science has to prove some if not all of the practices of the religion as true and necessary for human life.
