1.If an employee is a specialist in his arena then the output or productivity will be excellent.

2.The employee can be secured of his job because the company will rely upon him for the work.

3.He will possess self confidence and have positive attitude.

Few of the disadvantages are

1.Sometimes the employee will be over confident that he might lose on the quality of the product.

2.Monotony will be a part of his job and as a result he might become lethargic.

3.They might not be looking into minor safety issues while working.

A matrix organisation structure differs from a team organization in the following ways

1.In a matrix organization structure an employee has to report to two different managers whereas in a team organization an employee had to report to one manager only.

2.A matrix organization has a combination of employees who have different skill sets but in a team organization they are a team of same skill set so that they are excellent in one particulat arena.

3.A matrix level should consider an environment of equal weightage actions whereas a team organization has individuals with one particular job given to them

4.Similarities are both are effecient and effective in its own arena.
