Additionally, review the article you selected from the Class-Long Special Assignments section in the Week 1 Overview. Reflect: We have reached the midpoint of our course, and you have covered a great deal of material on political science or security research. This week, you have explored how to select cases to study, different qualitative techniques (content analysis, analytic narratives, case control and controlled comparison method, structured focused comparison, and process tracing), designing studies, collecting and analyzing data, and managing that data. The papers you are studying illustrate a variety of qualitative designs and will expand your overall understanding of this very important type of political science or security research.
