Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Television, newspapers, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities.
There has been a conversial issue regarding the fact that television, newspapers, magazines, and other media pay too much attention to the personal lives of famous people such as public figures and celebrities. However, I do not agree with this statement because of these following reasons.
Firstly, a public figure is a person who has a certain degree of fame among the community.
They can be seen as role models for a lot of people. Thus, defamation and invasion of privacy are inevitable and unavoidable. I cannot deny that famouse people are human too. However, it is in human nature to judge and be curious about other people. Celebrities must know this before choosing to go the bumpy path. Also, you cannot completely put the blame on the media for paying too much attention to celebrities’ personal lives since some of them might do it to meet the demand of the fans and curious people.
Second, being a celebrity means fame, fans and money. Famous people are considered to have a higher status than normal people. Sounds appealing? They cannot have their cakes and eat it too. There are two sides for everthing. They just have to learn how not to care so much about the cruelty of the society nowadays.
So all in all, I believe that media is not the only one to blame for all the issues regarding invasion of privacy of celebrities but the society also. Famous people have to accept the fact that once they have been in the public eye, they can no longer have their personal lives.
