Self-Assessment
The art of leadership is an essential attribute one can possess through their work career and life lessons. The leadership skills acquired through experience, commitment, and passions puts an individual in a better position to steer development insert purpose to the group one is leading. The self-assessment finds my leadership skills as a transformative personality whose orientation is focused on achieving pragmatic developments, continued innovations, and believing in my people (Manning & Curtis, 2014). The belief of carrying everyone on board has significantly been induced by effective communication that as a leader, one has to be concerned for the welfare of others, motivating them to better perform for the good of the group.
The salient features of leadership found in the self-assessment entity assert that I greatly value ethical, integrity, transparency, and accountability culture. In an organizational context, the combination of all the ethical beliefs merges to develop a committed workforce that is loyal and concerned at improving the performance of the company they work for in the long-run. As a leader, it is essential to lead by example and develop a corporate culture guided by values and norms – a code of conduct that guides employees’ behavior in an organization. This helps forge a better understanding and healthy relationship between the leadership and the employees guaranteeing improved productivity.
Additionally, in the learning process, we find that leadership skills need to be nurtured from time to time through career and knowledge development. The commitment to the course of leadership makes a great leader aware of the employees’ issues and offering practical solutions. Succinct to the leadership efficiency is showing concern of what employees are going through, being a mentor, gaining their respect, and serving for the greater good of the company (Palmer, Dunford, & Akin, 2009). In turn, this creates a workforce that emulates the corporate cultures aimed at elevating the company’s progress through productivity and quality services. Employees need a strong figure, influence, motivational, and inspiring to help them find their way in the organization, effective delegation of jobs, and profound understanding of the company’s goals and objectives. The result pertains continued growth and productivity of the enterprise.
The learning process induces various leadership styles as informed by the self-assessment that assert my skills to be a transformational leader. Guided by principles and values, it is essential to note that leadership entails incorporating positive change and turning problems into opportunities. The possession of such skills assured effective leadership and developed the mode of functionality. The implementation of positive attitude in all scenarios gives the opportunity of further impacting to the organization through a zeal of efficient performance and diversification. In turn, this leads to the success of the organization across all levels of the management and leadership.
