I know you are wondering, what is a mango?, What does a mango taste like?, and what is the texture of a mango like? Well I’m not because I know what one is, how it tastes and what the texture of one is like. That is why I’m writing you this letter to tell you a little bit about this mysterious fruit. At the end of this letter I am going to give you a few recipes that have mango in them so you can try some mango in styles and see how it can be used in so many different ways.
A mango is a tropical fruit that originated in Southeast Asia. Some people believe that the mango has been gathered for over 4,000 years. it believed that there is over 100 different types of mangoes. The ones found in the U.S. are normally imported from Mexico and South America. Its a fleshy fruit growing around a long flat seed.
The fruits have an average length of five inches and weigh approx. one pound. Mangoes contain some of the same oils as poison oak and poison ivy, sometimes people can have an allergic reaction to the oils found on the fruit skin and the leaves on the tree that mangoes grow on.
The ripened skin of a mango may be mainly yellow , or it will have different shades of orange and red. The skin of a mango is not edible. If the mango is turning brown or is already brown do not eat it because it is more than likely bad and will not taste good. The inside of most mangoes is a deep orange, although some mangoes in Asia have a white flesh. Mangoes are often fibrous, they have many long thin fibers that can easily get stuck in between your teeth. So if you ever eat a mango I would bring a toothpick or floss. Mangoes either have little or no fiber, but no matter how much fiber there is the fruit is more custard-like in texture. Most mangoes that are imported are picked unripe so that they can ripen during transportation, this way their less likely to rot.
It is kind of hard to say rather or not you will like mangoes because a mango might taste delicious to one person, but another person might think it tastes bitter or gross. Most people would describe the taste of a mango as a cross between a orange and melon and if you get a good mango it can be very sweet. When a mango is fully ripe, it can still be somewhat difficult to eat, they are very juicy. Mangoes are best served either in long slices or in bite-sized cubes. If you ever visit a country where mangoes grow, you should definitely try a fresh mango, they taste much better fresh than the ones you can purchase at a supermarket. Below is a list of just a few different ways that you can prepare some mango.
