Pros and Cons of Human Resource in Strategic Management
Strategic human resource management is considered to be the procedure of linking the human resource function with the strategic objectives of the institution with the aim of enhancing its overall performance. Incorporating a human resource strategy that concentrates on the institution’s bigger mission and goals have several advantages and benefits for the organization (Boxall & Purcell, 2011). However, there are also some disadvantages to the human resource division that is in line with its strategic functions. One advantage is that it assists in evaluating human resource policies since coming up with useful links between the human resource and strategy has the distinct advantage of helping the institution in assessing its existing human resource policies. Moreover, human resource encourages team building and instilling the sense of teamwork that will, in turn, support the institution in meeting all its set goals and objectives. On the other hand, it is costly to keep the strategic issues in check since the entire process will need a large sum of financial resources.
