Discussion Response

The opening statement of the article has been catchy enough and provokes the interest of the reader to complete the piece of writing. It is attention of the reader is grabbed at the first paragraph, which has been able to show the extent to which the author intends to prosecute the case, regarding the subject matter of Philosophy, Ethics, and Religion: Are there still rules? Even though the language and choice of words have been well used to create imagery on the topic, much details have not been given on the topic, more so intricate details.

It is imperative to note the extent to which the writer espoused the thesis of the paper which had varying topics. The author did the best to give a thesis statement for the paper. It is however important to note that the various topics of the subject matter involves three independent variables of religion, philosophy, and ethics. The writer did little to highlight the causal relations between the three subjects, more so on their areas of convergence and departure and why the topic, which is a conglomeration of other topic was the best option as opposed to directly dealing with each variable independently.

The claims are evident at individual variable of the topics but not evident as a single unit topic. The claims ought to have been integrated to a singular unit where by their existence and ripple effects in the societies are visible and concrete examples given to relate to the research topics and reference materials.

It remarkable to note that the research materials were well integrated in the research paper and the author was able to quote relevant materials and sources from where major claims were obtained. Scholars were mentions and thought thoughts evoked reasoning and imagery from the readers. One suggestion would be that the variables should have been reduced to one or two issues whose claims could be proven on a causal relations aspect and studied in details.
