There are several opposing views on preventing workplace violence. Do you believe it is more effective – in a professional setting – to take a “management” approach (i.e., personnel screening, employee assistance programs, counseling, pleasant work environments, strong policies, etc.) OR to take a “security” approach (i.e., physical security, access control, armed security officers, surveillance systems, etc.) to preventing workplace violence? Discuss your perspectives.
