Expert Answer
Products that are not made to last help keep production cost lower, offer customers with newer products quicker and at lower costs, generate more employment, stimulates more demand and help companies to switch from one technology to another. At the same time lower quality products drain natural resources, less efficient utilization of resources and higher cost to the society in long term.
Products with higher quality helps build global products, higher value for customers, better utilization of limited resources available, lower cost to consumer considering the products longevity and environmental friendly as it means lower demand for products. At the same time higher quality products makes difficult for consumers to switch to newer technology products, higher costs, lower demand and less employment generation.
Considering the advantages and disadvantages we can say it is better to make higher quality products as in long term companies get a competitive advantage making such high quality products and it results in better utilization of our limited resources.
