Expert Answer
Ergonomics is the way work places and sitting arrangements are designed for people to sit and work as per their body structures. It helps to minimize injuries and risks or harms to individuals.
An Ergonomics program in an organization would include the study of each persons body contours and designing sitting arrangements to commensurate with that. The program also takes into account an individual’s vision, hearing abilities and attitude.
Successful implementation of ergonomics program results in better output by the individuals who feel more comfortable, energetic and motivated to accomplish tasks. A successful ergonomic program would include perspective from the employees too and not solely dependent on employers initiative. Any alteration or changes must have the concurrence of the employee concerned for a successful output.
The success or progress of the ergonomic program can be evaluated by comparing the work output of employees before and after implementation of program.
