Good practices in strategic compensation are to always let the employees know what their goals are to get their compensation, if they are aligned to projects or KPI the employee must have this information from day 1. The compensation should be based on what the person actual does, it doesn’t make sense to create compensation based on the work of the whole organization it should be focus. Make sure that the compensations or incentives are aligned with the culture of the organization, it doesn’t have to always be money, it can be working from home or leaving early from work and another important thing is to deliver what is promised, if you tell your employees that based on their performance they will receive a compensation, they do the work and the compensation is not given then it speaks terrible of the organization.
