AMD uses Hyper Transport Architectures, Intel does not. What does Intel use instead of Hyper Transport? (Hint: Be careful, these concepts have nothing to do with Hyperthreading or internal architecture of the processor.)
Intel uses shared bus architecture whicg is a off-chip memory access scheme but it became outdated. As per present competate worls intel updates its bus architecture and it is called as CSI(Common Serial Interconnect) which contains similar features as hypertransport bus architecture. CSI is only used for server-level intel processors like itanium and xeon. Intel also focusing to develop on-chip memory controlleras as per their necessity in amd64 chips. Intel is concerned that transition to dual-core processors scheduled for recent times. But Intel is debating whether or not to release CSI as an open standard and to see whether or not it can compete in the open market.
