Through the process of breaking down these processes, the students or the writer discover the importance of constructive feedback on their work. Thus they enjoy it and progressively master it (Readers Digest, 2018). Five steps can be followed by a student to produce a logical and a well-written paper.
The first step in the writing process is prewriting. This is an essential process for the student to start with. This step involves critically analyzing All the requirements of the question that is to be addressed. The student can get the meaning of the question, and this step will form the basis of all the processes. The purpose and the audience also need to be considered at this step as well as starting a working thesis.
The second step is drafting. At this point, the student can create the initial composition by putting down all the needed ideas systematically to present a particular argument or a certain idea. , The purpose and the audience need to be completed at this point. Also, the student is supposed to information researched into his or her own words as well as writing in paragraphs even if they are not perfected ones. The student then reads what they have written and judge if it makes sense (Readers Digest, 2018).
The next step is revising. Under this step, the student reviews what has been drafted, reorganize through rearranging, adding or deleting some content. The style, tone and the intended content is enhanced. The purpose of this step is basically to improve the drafting process. More research can also be done in this process as well as replacing the overused and unclear words. The student should then read the writing aloud to ensure that the flow is smooth.
Editing is the fourth step of the writing process. At this point, the student proofread the work correcting grammar and the errors. Editing is also done to improve the style and clarity of the work. One should make sure that all the sentences are complete and the correct spelling, punctuation, and capitalization are enhanced. At this stage, it would be crucial to have another student’s feedback (Readers Digest, 2018).
Publishing makes the final step in the writing process. In this process, the last piece of work is shared with a group. Sharing of the work can be accomplished in various ways. The final copy can as well be published online as well as printed.
In conclusion, it is vital for the students to learn and understand the writing process before they work on any piece of work. Following the writing process helps the student to build more confidence in their writing abilities. It also provides organization and structure to many who might feel unsure of where to start and end any writing work. As a good writer, it’s always good to remember all the steps. “Remembering may be a celebration, or it may be a dagger in the heart, but it is better, far better than forgetting.”
