- What did you learn from the research on leadership?
The major lesson learnt from the research on leadership is the various leadership styles and skills practices by successful leaders. Some of the striking leadership styles which I admired most since I share them as a value were transactional leadership, transformational leadership, and democratic leadership styles (Goetsch, & Davis, 2014). Such methods of leadership inspire most people, involve the group members in delivering results as intended. The uniqueness of lessons from the leadership research were the leadership skills like listening, communication, negotiation, mediation and innovation. Such skills are important for a leader since it determines the relationship between the leader and the followers. They are important in fostering team building and bonding and inspiring team members to increase their productivity. When such leadership styles and skills are integrated into the organizational culture and value system, the organization is able to enjoy productivity of employees hence profitability.
- What is your Leadership Quotient (LQ)?
My leadership quotient LQ are the composite measures of my leadership skills which have the ability to influence other people and compel them to join the movement of attaining desired outcomes that impact more people. Per se, the leadership quotient includes integrity, perfectionist, mediator, good communication skills, and team player, consultative and firm in decision making. Such LQ has been able to inspire other people have worked with and they have been able to get inspiration and motivation to realize their potential (Webb, 2017). In addition, the LQ puts the best of me, makes me competitive and be the best among other people so as to get more value and meaning in performance. These internal strengths makes more significance when earnest and channeled in the right path of service delivery.
